My active research interests are in skin health, topical formulation development, drug delivery, colloid science, membrane biophysics and spectroscopy.
A particular focus of my research remains characterising the molecular organisation and structure of human skin, and the complex molecular organisation of the stratum corneum as a function of skin health and disease. This understanding has informed the development of efficacious topical products for skin barrier protection, repair, cosmetic active and API delivery, and skin surface deposition.
Much of this work, including novel approaches to measuring the deposition and delivery of therapeutic actives, has been published and presented externally or supported patent applications.
